Dependability through comprehensive manufacturing capabilities

How to Maintain CNC Machining Accuracy

When you invest in a CNC machine, you naturally want it to perform well and last for many years. By paying attention to a few simple tips before, during, and after machining, you can easily maintain machining accuracy and extend the service life of your equipment. Let’s take a look together with TMT to learn more!

Before Machining:

  1. After powering on the machine each day, allow it to warm up for about 10 minutes before starting any machining. This helps the machine return to its original reference position and ensures machining accuracy.
  2. Choose high-quality workpieces and cutting tools — this effectively improves both the precision and surface finish of your final products.

During Machining:

  1. Accurately install the workpiece — the flatness and level accuracy error should not exceed 0.02 mm. Make sure the workpiece is clamped securely to prevent it from flying out during operation.
  2. Select appropriate cutting tools and machining parameters according to the workpiece material and machining requirements. Reducing vibration helps ensure accuracy. (Choosing progressive or multi-step cutting can make the process more stable.)

After Machining:

  1. Use 3D measuring instruments and other high-precision inspection tools to ensure geometric accuracy and surface roughness. This also helps identify and correct issues that may have occurred during machining.

In addition, it is important to regularly inspect and replace machine components and cutting tools to maintain efficiency and performance.
For machines that have not been used for an extended period, increase warm-up time, check that lubrication lines are clear, and keep the machine dry to ensure it stays in optimal condition.
