How to Select the Right Hydraulic Unit to Boost Efficiency & Cut Costs
The hydraulic unit system is like the "heart" of the machine tools, providing the kinetic energy for the operation of the mechanical equipment. The hydraulic oil flows from the motor through the oil circuit blocks assembly, the oil pipe and then into the hydraulic cylinder or the motor, which controls the direction conversion, strength and speed and, so that the tool can achieve various actions.
The hydraulic unit is divided into the following three types. TMT Machine has sorted out the differences and advantages and disadvantages of various types of hydraulic units, so that you can choose a suitable one according to your usual processing needs. Help you improve the stability of the machine and create the best production efficiency.

Vane hydraulic unit
Advantages
- Stable operation, large flow, low noise, small pressure pulsation
- Compact structure, small size
Disadvantages
- High oil quality requirements. If there is any impurities in the oil, the blades are easy to get stuck.
Piston hydraulic unit
Advantage
- High parameters, high rated pressure, high speed, and high driving power of the pump.
- High efficiency, long life, many convenient forms of variables, light weight per unit of power.
- The main parts of the piston pump are under compressive stress, and the material strength performance can be fully utilized.
Disadvantages
- The structure is more complex, the number of parts is large, and the self-priming is poor.
- Oil requires high filtration precision. The use and maintenance costs are high.
Inverter hydraulic unit
Advantage
- Using the form of frequency converter + AC motor + quantitative pump. Greatly reduce noise problem.
- It can reduce power consumption by more than 35%, and achieve the concept of green environmental protection and save production costs!
Disadvantages
- The speed of the hydraulic pump is too low, which often results in poor low-speed stability.
- For high-power AC motors, the moment of inertia is large, and the capacity of the inverter is limited, the response speed is slow, and the control accuracy is low.
