3 Essential Precautions Tips for Operating CNC Lathes Safely
CNC lathes are the most widely used type of cutting machine tools and turning is one of the most common processing in the industry. Therefore, safety operation issues are particularly important. Please follow the instructions below.
- Precautions for safe operation Before starting processing, check the equipment thoroughly and confirm that it is good before use. The installation of the workpiece and the tool must be confirmed at the correct position, firm and reliable. During processing, if you need to change tools, load and unload workpieces and measure workpieces, the machine must be stopped, and the workpieces must not be touched or wiped with cotton when rotating. Do not make any overload processing. Do not place workpieces, fixtures and other debris on the machine bed and other positions. The machine must be used and maintained by professionals, other personnel are not allowed to use it.
- Clamping and fixing of workpiece In the process of turning, there are many accidents in which the machine is damaged, the tool is broken, and the workpiece falls or fly out due to improper installation of the workpiece. Therefore, in order to ensure the safety of turning processing, it’s very important to pay particular attention when installing the workpiece. Appropriate fixtures should be selected for different sizes and shapes of parts, regardless of the three-jaw, four-jaw chuck or special fixture, the main shaft connection must be stable and reliable. The workpiece should be clamped and tight to ensure that the workpiece does not shift, fall off, or throw out when the workpiece is rotating and cutting at high speed. When necessary, it can be strengthened and fixed with live center, steady rest, etc.
- Safe handling of chips The chips generated during high-speed cutting of metal parts are very easy to hurt people, and they are often wound on the workpiece, tools and tool holders. Therefore, iron hooks should be used to clean up or break off in time. If necessary, the machine should be stopped, but never remove or pull off by your hand. In order to prevent chip damage, often used interrupted cutting, chip flow control measures and various protective guards.
To strictly prevent accidents, all customers are requested to follow the instructions and do not reduce any safety measures arbitrary. If you have any questions about equipment operation and maintenance, please contact us through the customer service email or phone.
